I’m convinced I have the best job ever. I get to spend my days photographing couples like these two. You guys especially know that I love a Detroit engagement session! What made this extra special is that this is Claire and Grant’s 4th session with me! I think they’re crazy for sticking with me this long…just kidding 😉 They both hopped in my car to a location of my choosing (talk about a dream), picked outfits based on my engagement style guide, and since it was their 4th time, they allowed me to slow down and try things that I never have before. If you want to see something new I tried, scroll down to see my first successful double exposure. EEEKK I was so excited.
When they told me I was allowed to choose the location, I was ecstatic. I have been wanting to shoot at the Detroit Institute of Art for a while now! The dreamy marble, the evenly lit shade, the neutral background…it was a no brainer for me! During Winter engagement sessions, I typically prefer to shoot in urban areas. The reason for this is because it’s not dependant on if there’s fresh snow on the ground. Living in the midwest all my life, I know the snow is never predictable, so opting into an urban location is the best bet!
I am so honored that they chose me to capture Claire’s graduation, their proposal, engagement photos, and next up…their wedding! I can’t even imagine how beautiful their wedding day is going to be. For now, I’m just going to sit and admire how beautiful these engagement photos are.
Above is that double exposure I was talking about!! ^^^
